About
Pocket Offline started as a shared notes file between three friends who kept recommending each other games on long train rides. We were tired of reviews that clearly hadn't been played past the tutorial, so we made a small site where every entry comes from someone who actually spent time with the thing.
We focus on games that keep working when the internet doesn't. That means subway commutes, planes, cabins, and countries where roaming costs a fortune. If a game needs to phone home just to load a menu, it usually doesn't make the cut.,We pick titles across genres on purpose. Some weeks it's a slow farm simulator, other weeks a card game or a chunky RPG. A game earns a spot here when at least two of us have played enough to have an honest opinion, not because someone sent us a press kit.,Nobody on the team gets paid to be nice. If a game has clunky controls or a boring midgame, we say so. The whole point is that you can trust the little rating number next to the title.
Katrin Meyer — Katrin has been reviewing mobile games since the early Android days and still keeps a drawer full of old phones for testing. She handles most of the RPG and simulator coverage.
