Emberfall Chronicle
★★★★★ 4.7
Emberfall Chronicle is the kind of RPG I keep coming back to when I want something with a real story. You lead a small party through a dying kingdom, and the writing is sharp enough that I found myself reading every dialogue box instead of skipping.
Combat is turn-based with a stance system: characters can shift between offensive and defensive rows mid-fight, which makes even random battles a small puzzle. Gear and skill trees are deep without being overwhelming, and there's a proper save-anywhere feature that respects your time.
It all downloads once and plays offline, which is rare for something this big. My only gripe is the early pacing, but push past the first town and it opens up beautifully.
What we liked
- Genuinely good writing and characters
- Stance-based combat that stays interesting
- Big content, fully playable offline
